Day #9 in New York - Mambo Mama

Lat night at at a salsa dance at Iguana on 54:th street I was introduced to the Mambo Mama. She is an old-timer on the New York mambo scene and was kind enough to share some tips to a newcomer like me. According to her the citys (i.e. the worlds) best salsa record store is Casa Latina on 116:th st in Spanish Harlem. Another great tip - tonight famous timbalero Jimmy Delgado is having an event with live music at the Julia de Burgos Cultural Center at Lex Av (between 105:th and 106:th) from 6pm til midnight. I'll try to be there as soon as my Bongo class at the Harbor Conservatory is over.
